Delaware police investigators are trying to piece together what happened at the scene of a stabbing earlier this month on the city's east side.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a large group of people shortly before 2:45 p.m. May 3 in an alley in the 200 block of East Central Avenue. Police Capt. Adam Moore said the crowd had dispersed before officers arrived.

A short time later, Moore said, a man arrived at Grady Memorial Hospital with a "fairly substantial" knife wound near his arm. The wound was not life-threatening, Moore said.

He said investigators have talked with the victim, the man who reportedly stabbed the victim and multiple witnesses. He said investigators think the fight was the result of an ongoing argument between the two parties. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed related to the incident, which remains under investigation.
