Autumn program guides, which provide information on all park district programs and events for September through November, are available.

The guides can be picked up at all Delaware County libraries and chambers of commerce, the Delaware County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Delaware and Powell branches of the YMCA. They also can be downloaded at preservationparks.com.

Drop in at the following free programs:

* Homeschool Adventures: Marvelous Milkweed, 10 a.m. Sept. 8 at Emily Traphagen Park, 5094 Seldom Seen Road, Powell. Come explore life on a milkweed leaf. Participants will go on a hunt for this plant group and the insects that call it home. Ages 6-12, accompanied by an adult.

* Bat Watch, 8 p.m. Sept. 9 at Deer Haven Park, 4183 Liberty Road, Delaware. Families can enjoy an evening of games, crafts and bats. Participants will keep eyes and ears open for bats as they begin their nightly search for insects. All ages.

* Critter Clues: Nature's Whodunit, 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 10 at Shale Hollow Park, 6320 Artesian Run, Lewis Center. Detectives ages 6-9 can join a park officer to investigate a "crime" scene for clues and evidence while investigating a cunning caper.

* Hound Hike, 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Deer Haven Park. Bring a socialized canine for a walk with a naturalist. Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and have county tags. All ages.

* Magical Monarchs, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at Deer Haven Park. Participants will explore the life cycle of the monarch butterfly during this September Preschool Park Pals program. Ages 4-5, accompanied by an adult. Register for either session by Sept. 6 at preservationparks.com.
