The Delaware Christian School girls basketball team is facing a busy week.

The Eagles have four games over the next six days. They will play host to Patriot Prep Academy on Monday, Jan. 27, before playing three consecutive road games against Berne Union on Tuesday, Jan. 28, Fisher Catholic on Thursday, Jan. 30, and Village Academy on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Delaware Christian, which was 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the MOCAL after losing to Tree of Life 39-26 on Jan. 23, has only one league contest remaining. That game is Feb. 4 at home against Granville Christian, which is 5-0 in the MOCAL.

The Eagles lost to the Lions 29-25 on Jan. 9 at Granville Christian.

Rounding out the league standings are Tree of Life (2-3) and Madison Christian (0-5) before Jan. 24.

Delaware Christian defeated Madison Christian 48-29 on Jan. 21. Bethany Kuykendall had a team-high 13 points. Alix Stone added seven points and Emily Cornelius, Erin McCullough, Katie Morgan and Liz Sullivan each scored six.

The win followed a 46-44 loss to Grove City Christian on Jan. 16, a 52-38 win over Shekinah Christian on Jan. 13 and a 33-23 loss to Columbus Academy on Jan. 11.

Boys basketball teamsnaps losing streak

With four players scoring in double figures, the boys basketball team halted a six-game losing streak by beating Village Academy 72-66 on Jan. 21.

Ben Evans led the Eagles with 16 points, followed by Austin Roden with 15, Wes Blakemore with 13 and Drew Gaudio with 10.

Delaware Christian, which was 2-9 overall before playing Wellington on Jan. 25, is 0-4 in the MOCAL.

The Eagles will finish league play this week with games Tuesday, Jan. 28, at home against Madison Christian and Thursday, Jan. 30, at Tree of Life. They lost to Madison Christian 69-42 on Dec. 21 and lost to Tree of Life 68-47 on Jan. 10.

Entering play Jan. 24, Delaware Christian was last in the MOCAL standings behind Gahanna Christian (5-0), Tree of Life (3-2), Granville Christian (2-2) and Madison Christian (1-3).

The Eagles' first win of the season came against Northside Christian, 50-45 on Dec. 16. They narrowly missed getting their first league win Jan. 16, as their rally fell short in a 54-53 loss to Granville Christian.

Roden had 25 points to lead Delaware Christian, which trailed Granville Christian 43-31 in the fourth quarter.
