The Eagles were 11-8 overall after defeating Mount Gilead 40-33 on Feb. 12 and 5-2 in the MOCAL before playing Tree of Life in their league finale Feb. 13. They were second in the league behind Granville Christian (6-0).

Delaware Christian concludes the regular season Thursday, Feb. 19, at home against Danville, which is seeded third in the district tournament.

The Eagles are seeded ninth of 22 teams in the district tournament and will play at seventh-seeded Grove City Christian in the first round Feb. 24. The winner plays host to 10th-seeded Fairbanks in the second round Feb. 28.

Delaware Christian defeated Gahanna Christian 45-37 on Feb. 3 before losing to Cardington 35-32 on Feb. 5, marking its third loss by five points or fewer.

Erin McCullough had 22 points and 13 rebounds against Gahanna Christian, with Emily Cornelius and Elizabeth Blackburn both scoring six points. Against Cardington, Blackburn had eight points and Abbey Evans scored seven.

Boys basketball teamfinding late rhythm

The boys basketball team had won three of its previous four games before playing Shekinah Christian on Feb. 13.

Delaware Christian was 6-12 overall entering the contest.

After close loses to Patriot Prep Academy (40-38 on Jan. 24) and Granville Christian (59-56 on Jan. 30), the Eagles put together a three-game winning streak by beating Northside Christian (46-37 on Jan. 31), Mansfield Temple Christian (60-57 on Feb. 2) and Madison Christian (34-27 on Feb. 6).

The streak was snapped Feb. 10 with a 49-45 loss to Gahanna Christian, dropping the Eagles to 3-4 in the MOCAL.

Delaware Christian will play Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Big Walnut before closing the regular season Friday, Feb. 20, at Tree of Life in a MOCAL contest.

Entering play Feb. 13, the Eagles were tied with Granville Christian for third in the MOCAL, behind champion Tree of Life (7-0) and Gahanna Christian (5-3) and ahead of Madison Christian (0-7).

Drew Sedoti had 19 points, Brady Gregory added 12 points and Andrew Standley scored 11 against Temple Christian, which was held to 17 second-half points after scoring 40 in the first half.

Ben Evans led Delaware Christian with 19 points against Madison Christian and scored 21 against Gahanna Christian. Gregory added 10 points against Gahanna Christian.

The Division IV district tournament draw is Sunday, Feb. 15, with first-round games beginning March 2.
