The Dublin Jerome High School marching band won awards at two competitions Oct. 22.

The Dublin Jerome High School marching band won awards at two competitions Oct. 22.

The band attended the Tecumseh Showcase of Bands, placing first in Class A and earning awards for best percussion and best auxiliary. The band finished fourth out of 24 bands.

At the Shawnee March-o-Rama, the Jerome marching band was named second in Class A and third out of 24 other bands.

The marching band's show this year is called "Reflections" and was created by the band's staff.

The Jerome marching band will compete in state finals at Jerome High School on Nov. 4. The band also will perform with marching bands from Coffman and Scioto high schools Oct. 27 for the Dublin Band Showcase at Jerome. The show is free and open to the public.

"Willy Wonka Jr." will take the stage at Dublin Coffman High School this week.

The show that follows the storyline of the book, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," by Roald Dahl, will be performed at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 and 29.

A matinee is slated for 2 p.m. Oct. 29.

Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
