Olde Sawmill Elementary School collected more than $2,000 in pennies over the year.

The school participated in Power of the Penny at Veterans Memorial recently, as 43 elementary schools from Dublin, Columbus, Worthington and Upper Arlington gathered to celebrate raising more than $41,000 in pennies.

Each school gave the money collected to charities. Olde Sawmille Elementary chose three charities to benefit from the $2,362 they raised.

Kids N Kamp, a group that supports the families of children who are affected by cancer, got $472.

The school gave $1,063 to Paws for Ability, an organization that trains service dogs to help people with disabilities.

The Epidermolysis Bullosa Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital received $826 to help provide treatment for the rare skin disorder.
