Shawnee Hills Police Chief Sean LeFever was indicted on four felony counts of theft in office last month.

A Delaware County Grand Jury inducted 43-year-old LeFever late last month for allegations stemming from improper compensation in his working hours.

"The Delaware County Sheriff's Office received a complaint in July that Chief LeFever had received improper compensation," Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O'Brien said in a news release.

"The indictment today outlines four counts of theft in office -- all fifth-degree felonies."

LeFever has been police chief of Shawnee Hills since April 2010. The investigation into his compensation began in July and he has been on paid administrative leave.

An arraignment date for LeFever has not yet been set.
