Crawford Hoying's Exchange Events Center isn't scheduled to open until Aug. 1, but the Bridge Park developer said its already fielding questions from a major health system interested in holding a conference there.

The conference would be held in October and could attract as many as 200 people from central Ohio and beyond, said Crawford Hoying spokesman Ted Orr.

Interest has reached a "fever pitch" in the last two to three weeks, Orr said, and Crawford Hoying is "fielding calls daily" from people curious about when the conference center will open.

At least two Dublin residents plan to use the events center and the neighboring AC Marriott Hotel for wedding celebrations, he said.

Construction on the 19,000-square-foot events center started at the end of September, said Crawford Hoying Principal Nelson Yoder.

Cameron Mitchell Premier Events will operate the facility.

The space is designed to hold 500 people for a banquet-style gathering, 800 for a seminar and 1,000 for standing room only.

Moody Nolan and Brackett Builders are leading design and construction of the events center, along with the hotel and a nearby parking garage, Yoder said.

The hotel is about midway through 14 months of construction and is slated to open in July, Yoder said.

The eight-story, 100,628-square-foot hotel will feature a garden and a rooftop bar that will serve light appetizers and offer a full drink menu.

A rooftop conference center will also be available for corporate retreats.

The bar will be accessible by hotel patrons via an indoor elevator.

The public can enter the bar by using an express elevator that will travel directly from the ground to the eighth floor.

Come the end of December, the hotel's exterior is expected to be complete, and work will continue on the interior, Yoder said.

The 468-space parking garage nearby will open July 1, Yoder said.
