Interfering with police performing a field sobriety testing resulted in arrest for a 37-year-old Hilliard man.

Interfering with police performing a field sobriety testing resulted in arrest for a 37-year-old Hilliard man.

Additional police responded at 5:57 a.m. Nov. 6 to assist an officer on a traffic stop at state Route 257 and Summit View Road.

The driver of the vehicle was undergoing field sobriety tests while the Hilliard man, who was the passenger, was yelling from the car and swearing at officers.

The man asked police to take him into custody instead of the driver, a 27-year-old Powell woman.

Police noted he, in addition to the driver, was intoxicated and requested that he get a ride home.

The man cursed at officers and made threatening hand gestures before refusing to get out of the vehicle after police told him he was under arrest.

After he got out of the vehicle and pushed an officer, officers fired a Taser at him.
