The Dublin Coffman High School girls track and field team won its third consecutive district championship.

The Shamrocks scored 141 points in the 16-team Division I, district 3 meet that concluded May 25 at Hilliard Darby, finishing well ahead of runner-up New Albany (86).

The top four finishers in each district event qualified for the regional meet that began May 29 and concludes Friday, May 31, at Pickerington North. The top four finishers in each regional event advance to the state meet June 7 and 8 at Ohio State.

Coffman advanced all four of its relays, with the 800-meter relay of Rylee Axner, Beatrice Hannan, Kaylee Taylor and McKenzie Bailey (1 minute, 43.04 seconds) and 1,600 relay of Axner, Bailey, Taylor and Rachel Weber (3:59.21) winning district titles.

Also winning titles were Oyesade Olatoye in the discus (128 feet, 10 inches) and shot put (42-1), Hannan in the 100 (12.4) and 200 (25.98), Emily Mangelson in the 100 hurdles (15.2), Weber in the 800 (2:15.2) and Bridgette Widmyer in the high jump (5-0).

Placing second were Sana Qamar in the 3,200 (11:27.9) and the 400 relay of Shannon Downie, Emily Barber, Sarah Handy and Bailey (50.43), and finishing third were Taylor in the 400 (59.4) and the 3,200 relay of Weber, Qamar, Anna Weber and Kaylen Chang (9:47.15).

The lone regional qualifier for the boys team was Zach Bons, who finished fourth in the 1,600 (4:25.53) as the Shamrocks finished 11th (20) in the 16-team district 3 meet behind champion Granville (117).

Jerome boys, girlssweep 3,200 relay

The Jerome boys and girls teams won their respective 3,200 relays in the district 2 meet.

Brooke Boyle, Ashleigh Sherman, Erin McAuliffe and Kaitlyn Willette combined to win the girls 3,200 relay in 9:36.56, as the Celtics finished fifth (59) of 17 teams, behind champion Gahanna (141.5).

Also winning a district title for the girls team was freshman Tiffany Hill, who finished first in the 1,600 (5:18.88). The Celtics' other regional qualifiers were Sherman in the 1,600 (second, 5:18.99), Carly Davis in the 3,200 (third, 11:36.8) and the 1,600 relay of Devin Sadler, Taylor Elder, Casey Nitschke and Hannah Kayuha (fourth, 4:08.73).

Chase Stewart, Mitch Leitch, Jake Mandel and Graham Stecz combined to win the boys 3,200 relay in 8:12.9, as Jerome finished fourth (74.5) of 16 teams, behind champion Hilliard Davidson (140).

Also winning district titles for the boys team were Mandel in the 3,200 (9:24.52) and Stewart in the 1,600 (4:27.23). The Celtics' other regional qualifiers were Leitch in the 3,200 (second, 9:25.64), Stecz in the 800 (second, 1:56.92), Nate Crowson in the pole vault (third, 12-0), Bradley Davis in the 1,600 (fourth, 4:38.79), Nick Foley in the 800 (fourth, 2:01.3) and Tyler Holcomb in the high jump (fourth, 5-10).

Hayes wins districttitle for Scioto girls

Freshman Carolyn Hayes of the Scioto girls team won the high jump (5-1) in the 17-team district 1 meet, as the Irish tied Hilliard Bradley for eighth (40) behind champion Davidson (90).

Also qualifying for regional were Mya Hodge in the 100 hurdles (second, 15.41) and the 400 relay of Madison Scurlock, Nykee Scruggs, Aysia Prewitt and Charissa Newkirk (second, 49.6).

Advancing to regional for the boys team were the 1,600 relay of Christian Wade, Connor Howard, Tomo Hayasaka and Kenny Mayes (third, 3:25.64), Mayes in the 800 (third, 1:57.84) and Cody Steffy in the long jump (fourth, 20-10).

The Celtics finished 10th (22) in the district 3 meet.
