As the holiday season approaches, the mood in Gahanna reverberates with excitement in anticipation of the 10th annual Holiday Lights! Parade & Festival. Join Grand Marshal Mike Purdum, owner of the Old Bag of Nails, on Saturday, November 29, as Gahanna heralds the season with one of the most popular holiday events in central Ohio, the famous Parade of Lights. This year the parade will feature more than 75 lighted floats and a record-breaking number of high school marching bands.

The festivities, beginning at 8 a.m., are designed to captivate children of all ages with holiday activities set in historic Olde Gahanna. The holiday spirit will surround visitors as they experience the Holiday Storytime Breakfast, Santa's Secret Giftshop and the opportunity to visit with Santa himself. Additional activities in Olde Gahanna include children's crafts and games, holiday cuisine, horse-drawn holiday rides, entertainment, the popular Olde Gahanna Community Partnership Festival of Trees silent auction, unique offerings at a variety of downtown establishments, the beautiful holiday decorations at Creekside and most notably, the Holiday Lights Parade.

The flurry of activity is just starting when the sun goes down, as Ohio's premiere evening parade begins (6 p.m.) and warms the crowd with lighted entrants, including community- and professionally-designed and constructed floats, horse drawn carriages and a host of other dazzling surprises, along with post-parade fun. The 10th anniversary of the Holiday Lights! Parade & Festival will be especially celebratory with five marching bands, plus the Buckeye Brass Band. Attendees will enjoy festive music from Gahanna Lincoln High School Marching Lions, Clyde High School Marching Band, LaGrange High School Keystone Band, Southeastern High School Marching Band and Valley Forge High School Marching Band.
