Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor has announced that she is accepting applications to fill five seats on the nine-member Small Business Advisory Council established as part of CSI Ohio: the Common Sense Initiative.

Taylor is quoted in a news release as saying she is looking for individuals with small-business backgrounds.

The council was established in Senate Bill 2, which Gov. John Kasich signed into law in March. The council, which will meet at least quarterly, is charged with advising the governor, the lieutenant governor and CSI Ohio on the impact government rules have on small businesses.

The president of the Ohio Senate and the speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives each will appoint two council members in addition to those Taylor appoints.

Anyone interested in seeking an appointment may contact Taylor's office at (614) 728-6717 or e-mail CSIOhio@governor.ohio.gov.

Applicants must complete a boards and commissions application, which can be found online at http://governor.ohio.gov/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=9tvN1Awc0NI%3d&tabid=60.

The deadline for submissions is May 6.
