Gahanna service director Terry Emery has been selected to take over as Marysville's director of administration.

Gahanna service director Terry Emery has been selected to take over as Marysville's director of administration.

Marysville Mayor John Gore's office on April 29 announced that Emery would begin May 31.

"Terry brings with him a great deal of local government experience and enthusiasm, and I am looking forward to bringing him on board to move the city forward as we serve the citizens of Marysville," Gore said.

Emery, who has been with Gahanna since 2003, was one of four finalists for the position, from an initial pool of 36 applicants.

Marysville's director of administration serves as the chief administrative officer for city government and oversees day-to-day operations in the city.

Emery will receive a base salary of $105,000 plus a standard benefits package provided for all full-time city employees. He replaces Jillian Froment, who recently accepted a position with the Ohio Department of Insurance.

Police Chief Floyd Golden has been serving as interim administrator during the transition.

Brian Hoyt, Gahanna's public-information officer, said the city would begin studying the service department's structure and determine how to move forward.
