Gahanna Lincoln High School's 32nd Annual Marching Band Pops Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in the high school gym, 140 S. Hamilton Road.

Along with the 191-member Golden Lions Marching Band, band director Rob Cebriak said, special guests will include the high school cheerleaders, Louie the Lion and the Freshman Band.

The sit-down concert will feature favorites from this season's marching band shows, including music from Elvis, Michael Jackson and "Les Miserables," Cebriak said.

The public is invited and admission is free.

'Oz' performances, soup event help out

Gahanna Middle School East seventh-grader Mary Kate Gebhart will star as Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" this weekend to benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

The Westgate Theatre Co. and Carriage Place Players will present the show at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Westgate Community Recreation Center, 455 S. Westgate Ave. in Columbus. A silent auction will be held during intermission.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, an empty bowls and soup event will take place with a minimum $10 donation. Participants will be able to keep a handmade bowl and enjoy homemade soup and bread. The show will begin at 7 p.m.

A third performance is set at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23.

All proceeds from the Empty Bowl event will benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

Other stars of the show will include Gahanna's Dayton Duvall as the Tinman; Westerville's Chipper Snow as the Lion; and Columbus' William Smith as the Scarecrow.

Tickets cost $5 at the door.

All Access program provides discounts

The All Access program recently announced artistic offerings for the 2016-17 season.

The program, designed to make the arts affordable and accessible, offers $5 tickets to various Columbus performing arts events for ages 13-25. These groups will offer blocks of $5 tickets to select performances throughout their seasons.
