Local high school boys and girls basketball players have been nominated for selection to the McDonald's All-American teams. The final rosters will be announced during the McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Games Selection Show, which will be at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 11 on ESPNU. Local players nominated were:

The Arena NFL Flag Football program is now being offered in the area with leagues beginning Feb. 19 and running to April 16. Games and practices will be held at the Batter's Box, which is located at 48 N. Kleema Road, Reynoldsburg, 43068. Registration is limited to 40 kids per age group. All kids will receive an official NFL reversible jersey, flag belt, mouthpiece, trophy and trophy ceremony, which will be at Fort Rapids Indoor Water Park. The Heidelberg softball program will hold clinics for players grades 5-12 on Feb. 7, featuring instruction from the Heidelberg staff and Hofstra alumni Ashley Lane and Tara Ulrich.

An offense and defense session will be held at 12 p.m. for players grades 5-8, followed by an offense and defense session at 2 p.m. for players grades 9-12. There will also be a pitchers clinic at 4 p.m. for players grades 5-12. Former NBA player Stan Kimbrough, who played for the Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons, is offering two clinics for boys and girls grades 5-8. The Nothing but Net basketball skills clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Indian Hill Winter Club. Steve Hinds, an assistant for the Capital women's volleyball team, is offering the Zenith Volleyball Academy for girls grades K-12.

This will include the VolleyTots program for girls K-3, the general skills clinic for girls grades 4-7, the setter clinic for girls grades 5-12, the hitting/blocking clinic for girls grades 5-12, the defensive specialist clinic for girls grades 5-12 and the team systems/playout clinic for girls grades 8-12.
