Classes and workshops

Ask the Expert: Your Resource for Resume Writing, Interviewing, Networking-and More!, a program offered through New Directions Career Center and the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 9 to 11 a.m. June 25, at the Main Library, 96 S. Grant Ave. Participants are encouraged to ask pressing job search and career development question in an event that is open to the public. Private, 15-minute sessions will be offered on a first come, first served basis. For more information, call the New Directions Career Center at 614-849-0028, ext. 100.

Computer Basics, a 20-hour, one-week program presented by New Directions Career Center, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 24-28, at the New Directions Career Center, 199 E. Rich St. The first six hours are underwritten by Connect Ohio and the remaining 14 hours of classroom instruction are supported by a PNC Bank Foundation grant. Participants learn key board basics along with how to use a mouse to navigate the desktop and how to use the computer to find out about available jobs and apply for them.
