Grove City Town Center merchants will participate in the holiday festivities along Park Street with their first annual Mistletoe Market Dec. 5.

It will be one of several upcoming holiday-related events.

Market attempts to replicate the outdoor German Kristkindl Markt. It will feature entertainment, holiday sales, food and beverages.

The city will hold its winter lights celebration from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 4.

The event will feature live reindeer, horse-drawn carriage rides, caroling by students of Grove City and Central Crossing high school singing groups, ice sculpting and the official city tree lighting by Mayor Richard "Ike" Stage.

All features will follow the event's theme of an old-fashioned Christmas.

Santa Claus will be on hand for photographs before the tree lighting ceremony.

They will cost $5.

All proceeds will benefit Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Carriage rides will cover four city blocks. Rides will be exchanged for the mere fee of a donation. Food, toys and money will be accepted.

Donations for the rides will benefit the Grove City Food Pantry and Emergency Services and the Jackson Township Fire Department's Toys for Kids program.

The event's parade will start at 7:30 p.m. Floats covered in lights will head north from Park Street Intermediate School onto Wilbur Avenue, west down Columbus Street, south on Broadway and head back east on Park Street.

At the conclusion of the parade, Santa and the mayor will turn on the lights of the city's Christmas tree in front of City Hall.

The Christmas Home Tour will follow the winter lights celebration from 3-8 p.m. Dec. 5.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at any of the participating locations on the tour.

The map of the tour will be available at www.grovecityohio.gov.
