• Preschoolers: Those First Falls, 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Ridge Lodge. Enjoy a romp in the leaves while discovering the importance of trees.

• Graveyard Hike, 2 p.m. Sunday at the naturalist’s office. Take a two-mile off-trail hike to prehistoric Indian and pioneer burial grounds.

• Halloween Campfire, 7 p.m. Friday at the Ash Grove Picnic Area. Hear myths about bats, owls and other creatures around the campfire.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

• Spooky Stories, 7 p.m. Saturday at the Shadblow Reservable Area. Hear spooky stories told by the Storytellers of Central Ohio. Come in costume for a special treat.

Highbanks Metro Park

• Metro Parks Nature Print Contest, 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Nature Center. View entries in the photo contest and cast a vote for the People’s Choice Award.

• Commit To Be Fit Healthy Hike, 1 p.m. Sunday at the Mansion Reservable Shelter. Join park rangers for a two-mile hike.

• Annual Halloween Party, 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the Education Pavilion. Celebrate with activities and crafts in the garden

• Artist of the Month, throughout October at the Innis House. View the watercolors of John Behling.

• Preschoolers: Ready for Winter, 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Glacier Knoll Picnic Area. Join in fun activities and learn how wild animals stay warm in winter.

• Primitive Fire Making, 2 p.m. Friday at Spring Hollow Lodge, 1069 W. Main St. Learn how to make fire the way our ancestors did.

Slate Run Metro Park

• Halloween Tram Ride, 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Shady Grove Program Area. Ride the tram and hear stories about spiders, bats, coyotes, pumpkins and other signs of the season. Stop by a campfire to roast a marshmallow.
