Since it opened its Grove City location in May, Drayer Physical Therapy Institute has hired a third full time therapist and plans to hire additional staff by the first of the year.

Drayer Physical Therapy, which opened at 4090 Gantz Road on May 18, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an open house on Oct. 19. This is the company’s second central Ohio location. A Hilliard office opened in January.

The business has eight locations in Ohio and 60 locations nationwide.

Manager Jonathan Stump said growth at the Grove City office has been in line with his expectations.

“I’ve been very pleased with the growth and progress at this point,” he said.

Stump has worked as a physical therapist in Grove City since 2002. Upon learning of Drayer Physical Therapy, he felt that it “would be a very good fit for the Grove City community.”

Based on Grove City’s growth, he saw a need for another physical therapy provider in the area, Stump said.

An outpatient orthopedic physical therapy provider, Drayer Physical Therapy primarily sees patients with neck, back, shoulder and knee problems, Stump said. Still, he says the company really sees “the whole gamut of injuries.”

The Grove City location currently employees three physical therapists, a receptionist, a physical technician and a billing and collections representative, Drayer said. The third physical therapist was added a couple of weeks ago. He wants to add more physical therapists and office staff along with physical therapy assistants.

The number of new hires would depend on the office’s growth.

The Gantz road location is good because of its central location in the city, Stump said. The office, next door to a pediatrician, dentist and podiatrist, also was in the professional environment that Stump desired.

“We really think that this is a great community. We’re happy to be a part of it,” he said.
