The Little Theatre off Broadway will auditions at 7 p.m. June 16 and 17, at the theater, 3981 Broadway, for Moonlight and Magnolias by Ron Hutchison.

The show calls for three men and one woman. Two minute or less comedic monologues are preferred but not required. Cold readings from the script also will occur, as well as movement and improvisation.

The play, to be directed by Jim LeVally, tells the story of how producer David O. Selznick shuts down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind. The screenplay doesn't work, so Selznick sends for screenwriter Ben Hecht, who has never read the book, and pulls director Victor Fleming from the set of The Wizard of Oz. He locks the doors, closes the shades and on a diet of bananas and peanuts, the three men labor over five days and nights, going through the novel chapter by chapter, deciding what stays in and what is left out, to write a screenplay.

Showtimes are scheduled for 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Aug. 2-24, as well as Aug. 22 and 3 p.m. Aug. 11, 18 and 25.

Regular ticket prices are $13 and $10 for students and seniors. Call the theater at 614-875-3919 for information or to make reservations.
