Visitors can travel back in time and experience life in America from the Revolutionary War through the Civil War as re-enactors take part in the Grove City Encampment from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 1, in Century Village at Fryer Park, 4185 Orders Road.

Visitors can travel back in time and experience life in America from the Revolutionary War through the Civil War as re-enactors take part in the Grove City Encampment from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 1, in Century Village at Fryer Park, 4185 Orders Road.

Activities include storytelling, firearm exhibitions, blacksmith demonstrations and infantry marches and drills. Other features include historians representing the military and homesteaders, throwing a tomahawk, a traditional spelling bee and more. At 11 a.m., watch the Ohio Village Muffins play vintage 1860s baseball in authentic-style uniforms. Period musicians are featured throughout the day with a focus on traditional bluegrass music. An outdoor church service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, June 2.

This event is presented annually by the city of Grove City and the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society. Admission is free, but donations to the food pantry are accepted.
