The Grove City Parks and Recreation Division's K-9 Carnival will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Fryer Park, 3899 Orders Road.

The event features rescue organizations, pet-care groups and vendors sharing information and selling materials to benefit pets. Visitors may even meet a new addition for the family.

A fenced-off dog play area with access to Rotary Lake is open to dogs of all sizes, and an additional enclosed area is offered for smaller dogs only. Dogs may go off leash in the play zones to interact with other canines and play in the water but must remain leashed when not in designated areas. After all the fun, owners can have their dogs bathed by Boy Scout Troop 136 for a donation.

Pets must be spayed or neutered, display a valid rabies tag and be sociable with people and other dogs to attend. Participants are asked to sign in at the event. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Businesses and organizations interested in reserving a spot to set up at the event should contact the Parks and Recreation office at 614-277-3050 or visit GroveCityOhio.gov. Non-profits can set up for free; for-profit vendors will be charged $25.
