Students in grades seven through 12 are invited to enter the Summer Scribbles Youth Writing Contest, to be held at Southwest Public Libraries.

Students in grades seven through 12 are invited to enter the Summer Scribbles Youth Writing Contest, to be held at Southwest Public Libraries.

The contest, sponsored by the Grove City Writers' Group and Friends of the Library, is open to any incoming seventh- and eighth-grade student or incoming high school student who lives within the boundaries of South-Western City Schools.

Division I is for seventh and eighth grade students. Division II is for high school students only. In addition, the Shawn T. Hannon Memorial Excellence in Writing Award is open to anyone 18 years of age or younger.

Visit the youth section of either the Grove City or Westland library for rules and entry forms beginning June 1.

The following cash prizes will be awarded:

* First place, $100.

* Second place, $50.

*Third place, $25 in each division for two categories, fiction and essay.

The winner of the Hannon Memorial will receive $100.
