The Grove City Rotary Club recently received five awards for its service work.

The club received the District Governor's Citation as one of the district's top two clubs and was recognized for outstanding achievement in the following areas:

• Communicating club values.

•Enhancing public image.

•The club's work to achieve peace through service

•Membership development

Grove City Rotary's Interact Club, which provides service opportunities for youth 14 to 18 years old, was recognized for its work to achieve peace through service.

A recent example of the club's service to the community was May's Club Cleanup project.

More than 20 Rotarians and family members cleaned up Rotary Lake at Fryer Park behind the Grove City YMCA. The group pulled weeds, pruned plants and placed new mulch.

The club's other programs and activities include funding student scholarships, donating to the construction of the Eagle Pavilion at Rotary Lake, hosting the annual Relay for Life Survivors Dinner and contributing monthly to the Grove City Food Pantry.

The Rotary Club of Grove City meets every Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at the Pinnacle Golf Club, 1500 Pinnacle Club Drive. Meetings are one hour. Anyone interested is welcome to attend any weekly meeting. Visit grovecityrotary.org for more information.
