Memorial Day weekend kicks off as the Grove City Community Winds "Salute America's Finest," from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, May 22, on Park Street west of Broadway in the historic Town Center.

The ensemble of musicians will play patriotic compositions to honor America's military.

Veterans and active members of the military are encouraged to attend to be recognized at 8 p.m. by the community in thanks for their service. Those interested in being part of the recognition should reserve a seat in the special VIP area by calling 614-277-3015 by Thursday, May 21.

The Memorial Day parade and services hosted by American Legion Paschall Post 164 and Veterans of Foreign War 8198, starts at 11 a.m., Monday, May 25, when the parade steps off from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3730 Broadway. The procession travels south on Broadway to the veterans' monument in front of City Hall, 4035 Broadway, for a short ceremony before continuing to the Grove City Cemetery for the traditional Memorial Day service.

Due to limited seating, concert attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Parking spaces will be reserved for the mobility impaired.
