According to the 911 call released by authorities, the boy's grandmother said she heard a gunshot in the residence and found the boy shot in the head.

Authorities have not ruled on the matter, but Colin's mother and father told WBNS-10TV on May 13 he had a history with depression and they believed he shot himself intentionally.

Colin was a fifth-grader at Scioto Darby Elementary School. Counselors were available May 13 for students and staff members, per a letter from the school.

The Hilliard Division of Police is obtaining a search warrant to enter a residence in the 5100 block of Scioto Darby Road after a 10-year-old boy died after being shot earlier today, May 12, Hilliard police said.

The boy, whom authorities identified asColin Fraley, was pronounced dead at 4:46 p.m. at an area hospital, according to Hyda Slone.

"We are waiting to get warrants to go into the residence," Slone said.

She would not indicate whether police believe the shooting was criminal in nature, but police did say the incident posed no risk to the public.

The shooting occurred at the residence, according to Hilliard spokesman Doug Francis.

The boy's grandmother found him, performed CPR and called 911, Slone said.

Police still were waiting at 7:30 p.m. for a warrant to enter the house to begin an investigation.
