A resident called police to report a van matching the description was on Rays Way, a residential street on the west side of Cosgray Road north of the CVS.

The van was abandoned, Officer Hyda Slone said.

Officers still are looking for the suspected carjacker.

Hilliard police said a man with a gun approached the driver of a delivery van at the CVS store as he was returning to the van in the parking lot at 11:25 a.m.

The driver fled north on Cosgray Road, Hilliard Sgt. John Higgins said.

A 911 call was made by a third party, Slone said.

A description of the vehicle and its license-plate number were posted on social-media accounts and distribted to local media outlets, the 2005 Chevy one-ton panel van was found abouttwo hours later.

The van was being used to deliver supplies, including medication, to the CVS store, Slone said. However, nothing was found missing from the van, she said.

Police described the suspected carjacker as a black male with a stocky build wearing a gray jacket with a hood and gray pants. He was armed with a handgun.

Residents should not approach the man but should call 911, police said.

Hilliard police are asking residents to exercise caution but report if they see a vehicle believed to have been stolen in a carjacking incident today at the CVS Pharmacy at Scioto Darby and Cosgray roads in Hilliard.

The vehicle, a white 2005 Chevy one-ton panel van, was last seen driving northbound on Cosgray Road, said Hilliard Sgt. John Higgins.

The van's license-plate number is PHY-5641, police said.
