An anxious group of Hilliard Darby High School boys tennis players is off to a fast start.

The Panthers were 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the OCC-Cardinal Division before playing Dublin Jerome on April 12.

"Our guys were anxiously anticipating the start of the season because they worked hard in the offseason and have been very focused in practice," coach Scott Nickel said. "We have been very solid on the doubles courts by winning both courts every match. Also, Tom (Ohler) has been rock solid at second singles, and that combination has given us a winning 3-2 punch over all our opponents so far this season."

Krishna Revur and Adam Schrock have been playing first doubles, with Justin Knueppel and Yash Somani at second doubles.

In OCC-Cardinal matches, the Panthers defeated Bradley 3-2 on March 30 and beat Westerville North 3-2 on April 5. They also defeated Wellington 3-2 on March 29 and Marysville 3-2 on April 4.

"We need to maintain our focus and continue to play with confidence," Nickel said. "We are going to need to be at our very best in order to get a 'W.'"
