Hilliard Davidson High School senior India Johnson continued her memorable cross country season with a stellar performance in the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships Midwest Regional on Nov. 26 at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Johnson finished second of 217 runners in 17 minutes, 36.1 seconds, behind Anne Forsyth of Ann Arbor (Michigan) Pioneer (17:17.3).

The top 10 girls and top 10 boys qualified for the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals on Dec. 10 at Balboa Park in San Diego.

Johnson won the Division I state title Nov. 5 at National Trail Raceway, finishing first of 178 runners in a course-record 17:28.6. She also won regional (18:36.2), district (17:55.5) and OCC-Central Division (19:15.27) titles.

"India's season has been a testament to her commitment to her goals and that is reflective of what our program strives for - dreaming big and staying hungry and humble on the journey," Davidson coach Nathan King said. "We are excited to have Davidson represented at the very top level of high school distance running, and India is a wonderful model of the Davidson culture and community."

Other area girls runners who competed in the Midwest Regional included Olentangy Orange sophomores Allison Guagenti (82nd, 19:49.5) and Lindsay Ott (86th, 19:53.3).

Orange senior Hunter Moore was the area's top finisher in the boys race, placing 13th (15:19) of 204 runners. Also competing were Dublin Coffman junior Lucas Bons (17th, 15:30.7), Pickerington Central junior Matt Scrape (18th, 15:30.8) and Buckeye Valley junior Zach Kreft (20th, 15:32.3).
