Johnstown Village Council is currently accepting letters of interest from residents interested in serving on either a newly created Design Review Commission (DRC) or the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Both are five-member commissions.

Letters of interest should be sent to Village Manager Judy Edwards, P.O. Box 457, Johnstown 43031 or e-mailed to jedwards@villageofjohnstown.org on or before 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18.

The Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for administering the zoning ordinances, drafting amendments to the zoning code and hearing requests for variances and conditional uses. The commission currently meets one evening a month.

The DRC will be responsible for reviewing the architectural and historic preservation aspects of new or modified development within the village. There is no current DRC, but it is anticipated the commission will meet as needed in the evening to review applications.

Village Ordinances provide more detail about the commissions and can be found from a link on the village Web site: www.villageofjohnstown.org.
