Licking Memorial Health Systems, Cancer Survivors' Picnic in recognition of National Cancer Survivors' Day, 1 to 3 p.m. June 9 on the front lawn of the hospital, 1320 W. Main St., Newark. Licking County's 1st United Race, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 15 at the Licking County Family YMCA. The event for ages 12 and up is patterned after the television show The Amazing Race. Teams will compete in mental and physical challenges and the fastest teams will be rewarded. Proceeds will benefit United Way of Licking County. Register online at unitedwaylc.org. Cost is $20 per individual or $75 for a team of four. Individual participants will be assigned to a team. All participants receive a T-shirt. The event also features prizes and food vendors. Heath High School Class of 1993, 20-year reunion, July 26 and 27. Events include a casual gathering July 26 at Papa Boo's in Thornville, a golf outing July 27 at Raccoon International and a reunion dinner July 27 at the Newark Metropolitan Hotel. Cost for golf is $30 per person, cost for the reunion dinner is $25 per person. Reservations are due July 12. Johnstown Community Sportsman's Club, opening ceremony for presentation of the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall, noon July 11 at 7357 Sportsman Club Road NW. The traveling wall will then be accessible for viewing around the clock until the final ceremony at 3 p.m. July 14. Club staff and other volunteers will help visitors locate names of fallen servicemen and make pencil etchings of their names onto paper. Presentations will be given by distinguished speakers each day, along with ceremonies involving regional organizations. Free parking is available and visiting the Wall also is free.

AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply.
