The Johnstown-Monroe Board of Education has agreed to hire Derick Busenburg and Zachary Niblick as new high school principal and treasurer, respectively.

The Johnstown-Monroe Board of Education has agreed to hire Derick Busenburg and Zachary Niblick as new high school principal and treasurer, respectively.

The board approved the hires, both effective Aug. 1, during a June 22 work session.

Busenburg currently is the athletics director and interim principal at East Knox Local Schools in Howard. The board approved a two-year contract at an annual salary of $78,000 plus benefits.

Niblick currently works as an audit manager for the central region of the state auditor's office.

The board approved a two-year, 260-day-per-year contract for Niblick at a salary of $80,000 plus benefits. Any board-authorized days worked in July will be paid at his per-diem rate of $308.

"We welcome both of these fine individuals to our Johnstown school district team and look forward to working with them as we continue our efforts to improve educational opportunities for our children," said Dale Dickson, J-M superintendent.
