XENIA - Sophomore Brad Wilson tossed a two-hitter to lead the Northridge High School baseball team past Cincinnati Summit Country Day 1-0 in a Division III regional semifinal May 30 at the Athletes in Action complex.

The Vikings (20-10) advanced to play Hamilton Badin at 5 p.m. May 31 in a regional final at the same site. The Rams (22-7) defeated second-ranked Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 1-0 in the other semifinal.

"I had some pregame jitters and was pretty nervous," said Wilson, who had nine strikeouts and issued two of his four walks in the first inning. "But I got over that and started locating my fastball. I was changing locations a lot and that was working."

Senior shortstop Storm Strout singled to left-center field to score sophomore catcher Matt Simmons in the fifth inning for the game's only run.

The Vikings had five hits, all singles. Wilson had two to go with hits from Simmons, Strout and senior third baseman Ross Wilson.

Summit Country Day (21-11) had won nine consecutive games. Christian Kuethe struck out six and walked three to take the loss for the Silver Knights.
