Heath resident Beth Kelly has joined the Greater Licking County Convention and Visitors Bureau as its new marketing manager.

"Beth comes to us with 14 years of hospitality and marketing experience," said Susan Fryer, bureau executive director. "Beth is an innovative individual who has been responsible for spearheading many special projects, developing marketing plans and creating comprehensive marketing budgets.

"She also brings experience in design and collateral creation," Fryer said. "We are so fortunate to have Beth bring all of this talent and experience to our CVB team."

Prior to joining the bureau Dec. 21, Kelly had worked as marketing manager at Cherry Valley Lodge for 11 years. She has a bachelor's degree in communication from The Ohio State University.

"She's bringing a whole lot of talent to our bureau," Fryer told ThisWeek. "She's into social networking with Facebook and Twitter. She has a wonderful eye for ad layout and getting good responses to ads. She has a hospitality background, and I like that."

Fryer said one-third of the bureau's budget is spent on marketing, providing Kelly with a $100,000 budget.

"She's in charge of the ad layout and design and keeping our Web site updated and fresh," Fryer said. "She also has to make sure the space is reserved for the buys and getting ads submitted."

Kelly replaces Amber Lewis, who had been with the bureau for five years.
