Cheer Force One on Aug. 1 will move to 5809 York Road. In addition to All Star cheer, CF1 offers open mat, gym rentals, private lessons and birthday parties.

A ribbon cutting ceremony with Pataskala city officials, tours of the gym, music, and open mat for $1 and one can of food for the Pataskala food pantry are planned for 6 p.m. Aug. 1.

Nonprofits may apply for grants

The Licking County Foundation is accepting grant proposals from tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations that serve Licking County. The grants, awarded through unrestricted and field of interest funds, help nonprofit groups fulfill needs and fund innovative services and programs.

The deadline for submitting a Grant Inquiry Form, the first step of the 2014 Community Grant application process, is Wednesday, Aug. 21. Concert slated

for July 28

The sixth in the 32nd season of the Granville Recreation District's concerts will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28.

The show features Jake & Elwood's Blues Revue, a Blues Brothers tribute act.

The performance is free and will be held on Denison University's Fine Arts Quad at 338 W. Broadway. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in Burke Hall.

LCAP seeks fans

to combat heat

The Licking County Aging Program is accepting new or gently used fans and monetary donations to purchase new fans for citizens age 60 and older enduring the summer heat without any means of relief.

Bring fans or donations to Heritage Hall Senior Center, 1058 E. Main St., Newark.

LCCH receives

VA grant

The Licking County Coalition for Housing (LCCH) will receive $303,000 from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to serve 80 veterans' families in Licking and Knox counties.

The funds are provided through a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program that provides services to very low income veteran families.

LCCH is one of 13 new SSVF grantees in Ohio and among the first to be funded in the central Ohio area. The one-year grant is expected to begin Oct. 1.
