Two dozen candidates have applied to be the public relations and tourism director for Union County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The CVB posted the job listing last month, after former director Christy Clark left to take a job as executive director of Destination Hilliard. The deadline to receive applications for the Union County position was July 23.

ThisWeek Marysville obtained the names of the 24 applicants from the Union County Chamber of Commerce after filing a public records request.

Chamber of Commerce CEO Eric Phillips said on Wednesday, July 28, that after that request, one applicant withdrew her name, and that other applicants have indicated they may withdraw as well.

Applications for the position obtained on July 28 are:

Candace K. Watson, current director of the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce Convention & Tourist Bureau.

Lori Warner, current director of marketing and communications for the In Step Dance Center, Marysville.

Lauralynn Stephen, proprietor of The Pet Lady, Marysville.

Amy L. Rogan, assistant news director/executive producer/producer for Ohio News Network.

Theresa Ravencraft, media specialist at Creekview Intermediate School, Marysville.

Blaire A. Ramey, a 2010 graduate of Capital University with bachelors degrees in radio/television/film and public relations.

Maria Lorli Patterson, executive director of the International Family Center of Union County, Marysville.

Alisa M. Nass, special sections and special sections feature editor for The Columbus Dispatch from 2004-2010.

Amanda Morris, a travel consultant for Traveline Travel Services, Marysville.

Bret Adams, copywriter for AmeriMark Direct LLC from 2008-2009.

Bill Behrens, director of convention services for Experience Columbus (Greater Columbus Convention & Visitors Bureau.)

Joshua Chaney, public relations and promotions assistant for TrueSports Inc.

Brian Dale, executive director of the Cave City (Kentucky) Convention Center & Tourism Bureau.

Gretchen S. Friend, current Uptown Marysville Renewal Team manager for the Union County Chamber of Commerce.

Jason R. Gardner, trainer at MAC Tools.

Ashley S. Garrett, currently an independent consultant, and former director of planning and evaluation of the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Union County.

Matthew D. Hammer, has a background in restaurant management and retail management, although his application does not state specific current/former employers.

Eric P. Herzog, tourism information manager for the Ohio Division of Tourism.

Alyssa M. Mehling, a 2010 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in journalism.

Pamela S. Miller, executive director of the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Julie M. Whipple, customer care representative for Wellpoint.

David C. Wiedenheft, assistant news and sports director for Clear Channel Radio/BAS Broadcasting.

Peggy Windhorst, customer service representative for Medco Health Solutions.

Phillips said that the resumes will be reviewed this week, and the goal is still to have someone hired by mid- to late September.
