The city of Marysville will begin removing unhealthy trees from tree lawn areas starting Monday, March 9.

According to an announcement from the city, the effort targets trees planted in the grassy strips between sidewalks and streets. It ends April 30.

All residents who pay for city refuse service can request a no-cost removal of a tree in poor health.

For more information or to recommend a tree for removal, call the Public Service Department at 937-645-7350 and choose option 5. Requests must be received by April 15.

City employees will evaluate trees for potential removal, which involves cutting down the tree, grinding the stump and putting down topsoil and grass seed.
