The Salvation Army is seeking Red Kettle volunteers for the holiday season.

Red Kettles fund Salvation Army operations year-round, and bell ringers are vital to the success of the organization.

The women's board of the Central Ohio Diabetes Association will host the Deck the Halls Tour of Homes and Candlelight Celebration Dec. 3 and 4.
The Deck the Halls Tour of Homes will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at five Upper Arlington residences. Several event contributors, including Chapel Hill Florist, Crimson Design Group, The Daisy Basket, Hilliard Floral Design and Natural Designs, will redecorate the homes with a holiday theme.
Participants will also enjoy a variety of activities and shopping opportunities, including a Jingle Bell Boutique, Caf Fa La La, Dasher's Dining Ornaments, a silent auction, Holly Jolly Raffle and Santa's Sweet Shoppe.
Tickets are $18 per person in advance and $20 the day of the tour. Tickets may be purchased at Huffman's Market, 2140 Tremont Center; Tortoise Shell, 2068 Arlington Ave.; or online at www.deckthehallsfordiabetes.org.
The Candlelight Celebration is a cocktail party that will run from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at a home in Upper Arlington. Tickets are $100 per person, and include a complimentary Tour of Homes admission.
Event proceeds will support the camp and youth programs of CODA.

Conservatory plans

Seasonal events are currently under way at the Franklin Park Conservatory, 1777 E. Broad St., and will continue through Jan. 3.
Highlights include hundreds of poinsettias, the traditional 15-foot poinsettia tree, a model garden railway, Candlelight Nights, family activities and special performances, all taking place while "Chihuly Reimagined" remains on view.

Panera Bread locations
participate in toy drive
Columbus residents may drop off new, unwrapped toys to local Panera Bread locations through Dec. 2 for the annual Toys for Tots holiday drive.
The drive is sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps. Gifts for children, toddlers and teens are all needed, particularly for children in the 8 to 12 age range.


Sites named for 'Be
a Santa to a Senior'
Area retailers, along with local agencies that serve older adults, have partnered with Home Instead Senior Care to deliver gifts and companionship to isolated seniors through the "Be a Santa to a Senior" program.
The program is currently under way and will run through Dec. 7. The following locations will display Christmas trees with ornaments listing the first names of seniors and their gift requests:
CVS, 933 Bethel Road, Columbus.
CVS, 1495 W. 5th Ave,, Grandview.
The Forum, 9240 Knightsbridge Blvd., Columbus.
Powell United Methodist Church, 825 E. Olentangy St., Powell.
Holiday shoppers are invited to choose an ornament, buy items on the list and return the unwrapped gifts, along with the ornament, to the store.
