The New Albany-Plain Local school board on April 12 approved a two-year contract for Michael Sawyers, the district's chief of operations and strategic development, to succeed April Domine as superintendent.

Michael Sawyers has been chosen as the New Albany-Plain Local School District's next superintendent, according to a release from the district.

The school board on April 12 approved a two-year contract for Sawyers, the district's chief of operations and strategic development, to succeed April Domine on Aug. 1. Domine is leaving to take on a leadership role at Gahanna Christian Academy.

Sawyers was selected over Dean Gorrell, a superintendent from Wisconsin.
