A public altercation last month in a hotel lobby led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Galloway man on misdemeanor charges of assault and domestic violence.

Officers were called at 12:04 a.m. April 24 to the Hampton Inn Suites, 5220 Forest Drive, on reports of a man chasing a woman through the hotel.

Officers determined a domestic dispute was reported to have taken place between a husband and wife in their hotel room. After the woman ran outside and re-entered the hotel's lobby and encountered several people who attempted to calm her, her husband arrived in the lobby, according the police report.

Witnesses said an altercation then took place between a bystander and the woman's husband, who was arrested, taken to the New Albany police station for processing and later transported to the Franklin County Jail.
