The bylaws of the Northland Community Council state that meetings are to be held the first Tuesday of the month, and the NCC will follow them come 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in Friendship Village, 5800 Forest Hills Blvd.

"Yes, we are aware that this is the night of the Sugar Bowl, with (the) Ohio State Buckeyes playing the Arkansas Razorbacks at 8:30 p.m.," council president Dave Paul wrote in an e-mail, reminding members of the session. "We do not have a guest speaker scheduled for this meeting. We do, however, have important business to attend to, including reports from the nominating and banquet committees and a vote on this year's NCC awards-banquet assessment.

"We will make every effort to adjourn this meeting by 8:15 p.m. Any who feel it necessary to leave earlier will not be criticized, but we will greatly appreciate your taking the time to represent your community at this meeting in order to ensure quorum," he said.

Paul urged any primary representatives of member organizations who are unable to attend to designate an alternate.

"Also, please note that a table will be set up near the door for printed materials, including newsletters, you may want to distribute to other representatives and guests," Paul wrote. "In the interest of both time and conserving resources, please leave your materials there rather than distributing them at each seat. Reps are encouraged to take materials that interest them from the table as they arrive and/or during the meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting, please take any remaining materials with you for use at other meetings or to recycle."
