DeSales High School senior two-way standout Austin Andrews is out with an MCL injury and isn't expected to return until late in the regular season, according to football coach Ryan Wiggins.

Andrews, a Michigan State recruit who started the first four games at running back and defensive back, went down in the first half of a 38-27 win over Hartley on Sept. 18.

DeSales is 4-1. The Stallions play host to Watterson on Oct. 2.

"I've been told (an) MCL (injury) is usually around four weeks," Wiggins said. "That would put him out until week 8 or possibly week 9."

Andrews had rushed for 378 yards and five touchdowns on offense, had six tackles on defense and had returned three kickoffs and five punts, including one punt return for a touchdown.

Last season, Andrews rushed for 819 yards and 10 touchdowns as the Stallions went 10-3 and were regional runners-up in Division III.
