A man with a bandana covering his face robbed at gunpoint a business in the 1400 block of Bethel Road at 10:48 p.m. Nov. 28

The suspect fled on foot after taking $350 in cash, according to the Columbus Division of Police incident report.

The owner of the business gave chase, but was unable to catch up with the robber, reports said.

The incident was assigned to the detective bureau. The reporting officer noted the business did not have video of the crime.

In other recent Northwest Side police incident reports:

* A $300 safe and $80 in cash were stolen in the burglary of a residence in the 5600 block of Boulder-Crest Street that was reported at 1:34 p.m. Nov. 29.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, said he had been away from home since 8 a.m. Nov. 26 and only discovered his back door had been broken and the property missing when he returned.

Damage to the door was set at $500.

* An employee of a jewelry store in the Mall at Tuttle Crossing was helping a customer at 6:47 p.m. Nov. 27 when the man suddenly grabbed $2,400 worth of diamond pendants and ran out the door.

"The witness stated he could ID the suspect," according to the report.

"Witness added that the suspect had unique eyes because they were grayish in color. The witness described the suspect's clothing as a gray sweatshirt, dark blue jeans with brown accenting, and Timberland boots."

* A Holden, Mo., woman said her purse was stolen from her in the 4800 block of Sawmill Road between 9 and 10 p.m. Nov. 27 and her debit cards were subsequently used without her permission.

In addition to the cards, the $60 purse contained an $800 cellphone and $30 in cash.

* A 28-year-old Westerville man said another person bit his arm, "causing bleeding and pain," at 12:15 a.m. Nov. 26.

The assault took place in the 5800 block of Karric Square Drive. The victim was treated at the scene.

* Jewelry valued at $1,850 was reported missing in the burglary of a Lakebrook Boulevard home that took place between 5 p.m. Nov. 27 and 9:37 the following evening.

* Someone broke the sliding glass door of a Fernleaf Lane residence between 8:10 and 9:15 p.m. Nov. 27.

The victims said a jewelry box and its contents, worth $600, along with a tablet computer, also valued at $600, were taken. Damage to the door was estimated at $1,200.

* A girl reported being assaulted by her mother's landlord at 10:32 a.m. Nov. 27 when she pushed her and forced her way into residence in the 2100 block of Summit Row Boulevard.

The suspect told police she was merely attempting to complete a "walk-through" of the property after having given 24 hours' notice and the alleged victim was blocking the doorway.
