Shadowbox Live will rewind to last year for its Best of Shadowbox 2016.

The show will debut at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the troupe's Brewery District venue, 503 S. Front St.

Best of Shadowbox is a collection of comedy sketches, singing and rock music from the shows Out of Control, Screamers and 50 Shades of Shadowbox, all of which were part of the cast's 2015 repertoire.

"If Shadowbox does it, you're going to see a little bit of it in this show," said Stev Guyer, the group's executive director. "This is the best show in the world to introduce people to Shadowbox because there's so much going on."

Tickets are available at Performances are scheduled on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Sept. 3.

Guyer said the troupe performs 21 different shows throughout the year. He said he sits in the audience and monitors the audience reaction in terms of applause and laughs.

"It was an extraordinary year," he said of 2015.

Jimmy Mak, head writer for Shadowbox, said one of the troupe's most popular sketches in recent years was "50 Shades of Romeo," which combines Shakespeare and the book 50 Shades of Grey.

One of the most memorable songs was the Meatloaf classic Paradise by the Dashboard Light, featuring Julie Klein and Lukas Tomasacci, he said.

"We are crazy excited for this year's Best of Shadowbox -- bringing back all the best comedy sketches and songs from the past year," Mak said.

Each of the three shows featured will include additional flourishes.
