Two popular Powell events are slated for the first week of May.

Touch-a-Truck will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Adventure Park, 260 Adventure Park Drive.

The free family event showcases tractors, snowplows and even a Zamboni. It gives children an up-close and personal look at a variety of trucks, construction vehicles and public safety equipment.

Touch-a-Truck is one of the events made possible through a partnership between the city of Powell and the Powell Kiwanis, Powell Sertoma and Olentangy Rotary clubs. Costco is a corporate sponsor of the city's 2011 events.

Trunk to Treasure will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in the municipal building parking lot, 47 Hall St.

The event is a community garage sale.

Participants can bring their items to the event in their cars to sell.

The cost to participate is $20 for residents and $29 for nonresidents. Admission is free for shoppers.

This rain-or-shine event requires registration for sellers, which can be done in person at the Powell Municipal Building, 47 Hall St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
