Powell residents Brian and Amy Thornton recently opened Connect Online Fitness, a website that allows members to participate in interactive fitness classes through the Internet.

According to a news release from the Thorntons, the website uses "specially designed web conferencing technology" that allows members to interact with the instructor as well as with each other.

In the news release, the Thorntons explained that local fitness professional Julie Wilkes created a fitness program that fits the needs of all fitness levels. Wilkes assembled a team of fitness professionals to teach a variety of classes, from yoga to boot camp to cardio dance.

A portion of new member proceeds will be donated to Julie's Wish Charity, which grants the wishes of critically ill children.

Connect Online Fitness is at 4268 Daylily Drive in Powell. For more information, call (614) 404-3247 or visit www.connectonlinefitness.com.
