* Herbal Study Group, 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8. (Every second Tuesday.) Each month a member shares her own herbal interest, including samples and handouts. Cost is $10 a year.

* Storytime on the Farm, 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8. (Every second Tuesday.) Stories and an activity. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic for later. Cost is $5 per family.

* Family Farm Chores, 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12. (Every second Saturday.) Feed the animals, collect the eggs and do other farm chores. Cost is $12 per family; limit 12 families.

* Grandparents' Day, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12. Grandparents can take their grandchildren to the pond, the barn, the garden and the nature preserve. Fishing will be available. Bring a picnic lunch. Cost is $2 per person or $5 per family. No reservations required.

* Book Talks, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25. (Every fourth Friday.) Cost is $10 a year.

* Harvest Fair, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26. Kites, stilts, face painting and farm toys, apple cider making and more. Lunch is available and baked goods will be for sale. Cost is $5 per person or $20 per carload.

* Free Range Run/Walk, 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26. (Check in from 8 to 8:45 a.m.) Race fee of $30 for adults; $15 for children 12 and under includes admission to the Harvest Fair.

* Earth Institute Course: Choices for Sustainable Living, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays from Oct. 1 through Nov. 19. This series, developed by the Northwest Earth Institute in Portland, Oregon, aims to educate and motivate people to live more simply and sustainably. Cost is $30, which includes a book. * Small Farms Pre-school Series: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 6 through Oct. 30. For ages 4-5 years. Maximum 10 children. Cost is $120 per child.

* Fall Campfire, 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16. Visit the animals before sunset, then take a wagon ride to the campfire for songs and stories. For families, individuals and friends. Cost is $5 per family.
