Superintendent Mark Raiff on Wednesday, Dec. 9, announced a redistricting plan that will affect 572 current elementary and middle school students.

Arrowhead Elementary School's boundary will grow to the north, expanding on territory currently served by Cheshire Elementary School. Oak Creek and Freedom Trail elementary schools will add land formerly within Olentangy Meadows Elementary School's boundaries.

Families who move into the planned Verona subdivision on the site of the former Shamrock Golf Club in Powell will send their students to Scioto Ridge Elementary School instead of Indian Springs and Liberty Tree elementary schools.

Hyatts Middle School will cede 13 subdivisions to Liberty Middle School but add 10 subdivisions previously served by Shanahan Middle School. Two subdivision previously served by Berkshire Middle School will be sent to Shanahan and Orange middle schools.

Each boundary change also will affect a group of students who live outside of subdivisions.

Raiff's decision follows about six months of discussion by the district's attendance boundaries' committee.
