For the Christmas holiday, please note the following operating hours:

* Thursday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve: Parks will be open as usual, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. District offices at Hogback Ridge Preserve will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Lodge at Deer Haven Preserve will be open noon to 2:30 p.m., and Gallant Farm will be open noon to 3 p.m.

* Friday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day: Parks will be open as usual, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Lodge at Deer Haven Preserve will be open noon to 5 p.m. District offices and Gallant Farm will be closed.

Drop in at the following free program:

* The Gallant Farm Book Club will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, for a discussion of And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie. Read ahead, and come for the conversation. Gallant Farm is at 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road, Delaware. The book club is open to ages 14 and older.

Registrations are underway for these January programs:

* Preschool Park Pals program on owls will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, for children ages 4-5, with an adult. Register by Tuesday, Jan. 5.

* Homeschool Adventures program, Stories in the Snow, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, for ages 6-12, with an adult. Register by Thursday, Jan. 14.
