Olentangy Local School District, "One Community" Conference on Diversity and Inclusion, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at Liberty High School, 3584 Home Road, and 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 6 at Olentangy High School, 814 Shanahan Road. During more than 20 workshop sessions, parents, students in grades 9-12, community members, teachers and administrators can discuss such topics as economic diversity, overcoming hurdles in building relationships between American and Indian immigrants and exploring implicit bias. Special Olympics Ohio, 2016 Polar Plunge, Feb. 20 at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, 4850 Powell Road, Powell. All money raised by Polar Plunge events benefits more than 23,000 Special Olympics athletes in Ohio. Participants obtain a minimum of $75 or $50 (students) in pledges and then jump into the Polar Plunge pool. Plungers must be at least 8 years old. Guests will be charged a $10 zoo entry fee. Others can participate through "Too Chicken to Plunge," raising a minimum of $30. All plungers receive a T-shirt, food and non-alcoholic beverages at a post-event party.
